SWAN: Burning down the house

It’s been a while but we are back with another new signing announcement!

We are delirious to announce that Sheffield five piece SWAN are the latest members of the burgeoning Forgemaster family.

Harry, Rob, Joe, Matt and Oliver gave birth to Swan in 2020 but then there was a bit of a COVID prompted delay when the world kind of stayed at home for 12 months. But once the shackles were off in 2021 they began a steady journey, honing both their live and studio sounds to the point where they have landed up at Forgemaster Towers.

They cite Kasabian, Oasis, Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers as influences, but we were immediately minded of the stage energy and raw power of early Manic Street Preachers (circa Generation Terrorists – but without the feather boas) and a subtle touch of Joy Division with their rumbling bass and intense lyrics. (Rob has admitted that it was seeing Peter Hook playing that inspired him to take up the bass – so you see all roads eventually lead to Joy Division.)

So after a series of releases on all your favourite streaming channels we feel it is time to unleash them onto the world of physical media.

They have just released their latest streaming EP ‘The House Is On Fire’ and we plan to cherry pick the cream of that particular crop to lovingly impart onto vinyl so you can hold and love your very own piece of Swan. Properly. In your hands and everything.

As ever the timelines for getting music pressed up these days is quite frankly silly – but without some shortcuts it’s going to be a few months wait unfortunately.  But the wait will be worth it.

This is a cult. And it is growing by the day.
